IMHO, I don't think deleting the post count will stop the useless posts. Believe it or not, I do find the post counts helpful. It helps me see who's a contributor and who's not. It's also clear to me who got their count by PW-ing.

I actually think we're on the right path here with the creation of the corner and the flood control. In time, it'll all settle down.

I actually stepped away and thought about this for a few minutes. Here's the resulting thought.

For those of you who are new to this, the S2000 forum gang started on honda-acura.net. Off Topic got out of control there, largely because of a lot of nonowners (or less mature ones) going crazy in OT and eating up tons of bandwidth and then bleeding over with their nonsense into other car-related forums. It got so bad in OT, you had to weed through 5 "hottie" threads or "what did you have for breakfast" to get to an kind of quality thread. OT then branched out to its own site, as you know it now, Off-topic.net. Still, the stupid behavior continued, so Cthree created this site.]

Personally, I don't want to see S2Ki.com go to the same dogs that honda-acura.net did. Pardon me if I call a spade a spade, but this post whore crap and related other crap is following the same footsteps; and I don't want all of the S2000 owners to have to find a new home again to eliminate all of the immaturity and other b.s.

Muppet threads were harmless - they were big and often nonsensical, but the 'muppet' squad new their place and didn't go around posting the exact same smily face at the end of every thread just to brag about having the whole page 'covered' (for the record, I did it by accident once, and every single reply was thought out and topical).

Now there are 4 or 5 people who are using 'post-whoring' just to get a higher post-count, get all of the corners, or intentionally ruin otherwise decent threads. It's not really fair to lump all of the PWs together as useless, nor is it fair to single out interesting people who have things to say but don't happen to own or care about s2ks.

IMHO TJ, Rap, BG, AP, and many others who have been called PWs or singled out in the thread have (and continue to) offer a lot of insight and humor to the forum. I guess my point is, aim the gun at the people who are doing something wrong, not just those who have called themselves post whores or are called so by others... If you don't like to see smilie wars at the end of every thread, or idiotic redundant posts and post-chases, target those and the posters who do them for your wrath.

[edit]the vice squad thing is a JOKE that got started in the corner a while ago - I obviously don't hate all PWs
