Off-topic Talk Where overpaid, underworked S2000 owners waste the worst part of their days before the drive home. This forum is for general chit chat and discussions not covered by the other off-topic forums.

I'll take the plastic window anyday over this...

Everyone has their opinion, and I'm OK with it.. my main objective of the post was to dispel the "rumor" about the seatbelt catching on the top... simply can't happen

Sorry guys, I have to throw a flag for BS.

My old man has an SC430 and I can't see how this is possible.

BTW - style is subjective and the SC isn't the best design around IMO but it is a very, very nice luxury convert. The interior is exquisite (you really should experience it) and the whole car is very, very smooth.

I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree...

There has been no recall regarding anything to do with seatbelts. There was a service campaign (not recall) to replace rear suspension bushings. I have the car and looking at where the top moves in relation to the seatbelts, it simply can't happen. The closest to the top is the windows and they go down, not up.

I just went out and measured.. the highest point of the seatbelt is a full 9.5" away from the lowest point of the top when it's in motion. (as well as when it's closed) The rear seatbelts are nearly the same but they also have the small fixed wind deflector between them and the top... Finally, the seatbelt isn't attached to the seat and if you were to manage to get it caught (which you can't) it wouldn't ever come near the leather to rip it.. the seatbelt attaches between the seat and the door jamb..

Can't happen....

* Also, quite a few SC430 owners over at ClubLexus and never a single report of such an occurance.

SC430, it is good for a older type of distinguished person. I looks very classy, but I am young still so it doesn't really appeal to me. I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway.

Just so you guys know, it doesnt have any problems opening and closing while seated in the car. It doesnt even have to have the parking brake on like our cars do.

Until you guys drive one, you really shouldnt knock it. I drive my dads all the time and i love it. The car is smooth as silk. Having a hard top that retracts is also an amzing feature.

BTW, the car is on 19" 3 piece wheels with a big brake kit. 4 piston calipers and 13 inch rotors. And still smooooooooth
