I can't wait for this year to end. Been rough year. Its been rough for everyone. Lots of death going around this year (6 people I know died), war, terriorism, lay offs, economic downturn.

When the ball drops in a few weeks lets pray for a MUCH better 2002.

It's been a good year for me.....
-Bought a new Condo
-Got a new, exciting job
-Met my great girlfriend
-Purchased my S2000

But yes, I can definately vouch that 2001 has not been a great year in the international political, religious and consequently economic realms.

Lets hope that 2002 is a better year for all of the above.
Best of luck everyone!
Asif

On a lighter side of note ... If this year is shit, hope for a change next year ... Seriously, isn't this the phrase we hear or tell ourselves all the time? I rest my case nevertheless and hope for a brighter year ahead as always, I do my best for anything possible and if it turns out to be bad ... I blame myself first.

Gentleman, before you make an unwise judgement on the closing of this year, remember the good fortune that you have shared and the exchange of new ideas. Remember, the food on your plates when others have none or very little. Remember the issues that you were spared because of the knowledge that you've been given. Don't forget, to be thankful for the love that you've shared and the peace that you have graciously been given. These are great years of peace, sharing and love.

We often take for granted those things that are far beyond the normal necessities of life. Our biggest problem is our own forgetfulness of things which have made our life peaceful and good. We are blessed with so many fine and wonderful things that we forget to share them. We forget to share our love with our friends and wives. We forget our rights as free citizens and willingly try to give them away. We forget to give to all those that are needy.

Do not look on this year in a light of self but one greatfulness. Try something new this year, and give to others through out the year. Sometimes it's no more than a gentle ear or thought. Gentleman we've had a good year, probally better than we deserve.

Remember the people in need this year and give to them your time, food, money, shelter or whatever they may need. But remember to give to the less fortunate. Try thinking about what kind of year they had before you say yours was so bad. MERRY (CHRIST)mas and may God Bless you with another good year!

Jeff

Yesterday marked my 1 year anniversary of moving to CA. For me, personally, this has been one of the best years of my life. Yes, there were some horrible events, but those were only events...life moves on, and like Jeff said, there are many who have spent their whole lives in misery and without any help will never know anything different.

Happy CHANNUKAH!!!! (Jewish)
and KWANZA!! (African)
and TENNO NO TANJOOBI!!! (Japanese)
and BOXING DAY!!! (Canadian)
and NEW YEARS!!! (Most of the World)
and WINTER SOLSTICE!!! (Pagans)
and EID AL FITR !!! (Muslim)
and Uttarayan!!! (Hindu)
and Dongzhi!!! (Chinese)
and ALL THE OTHER HOLIDAYS THAT ARE CELEBRATED BY PEOPLE HERE THAT I DON'T KNOW THE NAMES OF!!!

Santa Claus can go shove my menorah where the sun don't shine Christians aren't the only people that KICK ASS around here!

and a prayer usually reserved for seder:
NEXT YEAR, MAY WE CELEBRATE IN PEACE,
NEXT YEAR, MAY ALL BE FREE!
