The Exploratium-- a bad-a$$ place with all kinda of nifty science projects ,etc... over by the Golden gate..
Cross the Golden Gate (away from SF), take (first I think) exit, go up hill... Overlooks the bay/golden/etc.. beautiful..
Make reservations on Salsalido (cross the golden again off to the right), for some fine dining.
Go into Sanoma and do some of the wine tours (Kenwood and the Champain places are really cool).
Go over to the Berkley Botanical Gardens--just past Oakland (other bridge, next to the golden)-- fooking beautiful... and the giant red-woods are also in that area.
If your up for a bit of a drive, head down the Monteray and goto the aquarium down there... amazingly beautifil also-- giant (10+ foot) jelly fish, 3 story clear tank with schools of tuna, etc... Really nice.
The whole Peer-39/Ghadelli square thing is interesting, but its REALLY touristy...
Hit China town and get some really good Green Tea.
There is (or was?) a cool Amusement park down in San Jose just off Grand Ave... if your into the roller coaster rides and such.
Hmm..thats all that comes to mind off hand.
