I'm having hip replacement surgery on Monday.
as a major back surgery survivor....LOL....I offer this:
PLEASE do as much PT as you possibly can safely. the more you exercise to get back to normal the better off you will be.
godspeed on a quick recovery....enjoy the analgesics

The surgery was difficult. They had trouble seating the parts, so it took four hours instead of two. There was lots of wound drainage, so I needed a transfusion. I was taken by ambulance from the hospital to Leisure Glen, a nursing home with a rehab unit, in Glendale (right next to Forest Lawn, so one stop shopping,) Thursday night. It was a bunch of really old, really sick people waiting to die. Lots of moaning. I said "Get me the hell out of here now!" So I went home. I'm getting in-home medical care, including physical therapy. I get around on a walker, with quite a bit of pain. This is going to take some time, but I'll make it.
