Default I'm starting to enjoy my tv more than ever...

This could be the first time I've ever praised a cable company (Comcast) - but we are getting more and more HD channels and they look spectacular! On top of that my download speed is supposed to go up to 3 megabits in January.

I just hope my rates don't go up...

How are you getting HD from Comcast? I didn't think you could get HD except from airwaves or Sattelite.

Hey Ash -

I've been looking at the RCA DVD/Hard Disc recorder (you don't have to pay the Tivo monthly fees)

Raj - As long as your TV is HD ready - here in Seattle you can request a HD box. It hooks up the component inputs on your TV and you get a true HD signal. No extra charge (for a change!)

One nice thing is that I live in an area that prevents me from getting the local channels satellite HD signals. Right now I'm getting the local ABC and NBC and public TV signals in HD.

For my Toshiba 57" the HD tuner was something like $400 so it makes the HD box from Comcast all that much better since you don't need the converter.

That is sweet! I wonder if Seattle is a test site for this technology. I have a 55" Mitsu HD w/o tuner. They haven't announced the HD option here. I'd love that. I watch so much Pro Scan DVD right now. I'll be happy when HD becomes more ubiquitous.

Raj -

I found out about this stuff on a non-Comcast forum... they had more info than Comcast did about service and channel availability etc...

If I can find it again - I'll post or pm you.

Hey Colin - getting to be as old as me... you gotta have toys! I'm married now so chasing girls is not really an option anymore...
