I'm the same - don't like tattoos, period. My dad has a bunch and he sincerely regrets getting them - since he has two on his forearms, he dislikes wearing a short sleeve short when out with clients or something (gives a bad impression to many). I'd seriously think about who can see your tattoo everyday before you get it. Pelvis is fine since I doubt everyone will see that everyday, but a shoulder or arm or even foot is a little different. I wouldn't get one at all (it seems to be the sort of thing that people love at first but learn to regret), but that's just me...
I told my bro that once I become a Firefighter I'd get the same tattoo he has.. but smaller. He has a Skull with a fireman hat on and flames shooting from the back.. he has it on his right upper bicep, I want a smaller version on my lower back. It's one sweeeet tattoo!
How about a tattoo of a mouse with a very scared look in his eyes. That way, if anybody asks why he is afraid, you can say that its afraid your "cat" is going to eat it.
Here is a pic of some of mine. They are very addictive and yes they do hurt. Even know the pain on my back was the worst, I would do it all over again if I had to. It took 4 hours + 1/2 hour of touch-ups once healed.
BTW - The sexiest place for a female IMO is the lower back.
Two of my GFs had small tats on their lower back, just above the "ass dimple" area. Extremely sexy, IMO. But please, not pooh bear.... A "cutesy" tat will not look good when you're 50.
