Default Which industry best to work in?

I'm curious. I'm in the IT field, but what's the best industry to work in? I'm being told finance is the best, but what are other people's thoughts?

BTW, I graduate with a master's in information technology management.

industrial products, preferably a company under $500M revenue/year, private if you can (SOX crap will suck the life out of you) find it, and BECOME part of their business process by integrating your know-how into daily operations (if you can write quick reports & analysis using crystal or able to manipulate that into Excel and add a little PowerPoint, you're golden). most industrial producers aren't as tech savvy as CE producers and they rely on technical experts to maintain their lifeblood (typically an MRP or ERP or both).

good luck.

oh and most likely it'll be a job that's boring as hell, but it'll be fairly stable and fairly worry-free.

In IT you're not limited to any one industry. Don't limit yourself - send out resumes to companies regardless of their industry, and pick a job that has a salary you like and a work environment you like.

IT is a great field to be in, because there's almost always going to be a need. As Elistan said, send out resumes to several different industries. You'll probably have a pick of where you want to go.
