I know a vehicle has to be insured to be on the road, but does it necessarily have to be the owner of the car that insures it? Or could someone else insure it for the owner? My friend and I were just discussing it the other day and weren't sure the answer.

As I recall, it has to be the owner that insures it, but can add different drivers.
