I simply said the mileage section in the online quote doesn't seem to effect the quote. I have put in vastly different numbers there and seen no change in the quote from several online systems.

Well i own an Allstate agency. So yes Allstate can give you a very low rate if your agent does it right. It can be far less to insure 2 car's versus one.

Tell them your s2k is pleasure use only less then 7500 a year. and make sure they rate you to your other car. If your other car is just liablity your rates should go down quite a bit. I dare say maybe even in half.

This doesnt work with all insurance companies, some will not let you rate a single driver to a specific car. Some companies will default the the driver to the higher rated car. But yes with Allstate we can work magic.

FYI my rate $50 a month full coverage 30 years old clean record.

this is exactly right. I worked at Geico and AAA, and both carriers assigned the highest rated driver to the highest rated vehicle, regardless of which was used more.

but as long as you put your yearly miles on the S below that 7500 mark, you should see a discount for that along with the multi car discount ...

I just switched from Allstate to State Farm, and I know that is not true with either of them. The car you declare as your daily driver makes a HUGE difference in insurance rates. Both Allstate and State Farm have a "pleasure vehicle" discount category for vehicles that are not daily drivers and are driven relatively low mileage (under 7500mi annually)
I second that. I have my S2000 rated at the fun car, am limited under this policy to 7000 miles per year, (way more than I need with MN winters) and pay $250 for six month, full comp, collision, with $100 deductible. Then pay $85 to insure it for storage in the winter. Total annual insurance of $335.

The dodge as the daily driver is $300 every six months with the same full coverage.

oh yeah, State Farm
