Default interesting discussion in the doctors lounge

so I was waiting for my surgery to start b/c the guy before me was delayed.

some surgeons were talking. I was just reading the paper and listening. Apparently, one of the doctor just purchased a 102 inch plasma at the price of over $50K. so another doctor said that's just wasteful. the first doctor said but you drive a toy (Porsche) around that's twice as expensive as my toy. also "At least my family gets to enjoy my toy too but only you enjoys the car".

2 thoughts came into my mind
1. which is more "wasteful", a $100K porsche or a $50K plasma?
2. I went into a wrong field.

As a car enthusiast, I think a 50K plasma TV is more wasteful.

Especially since you can get very nice projectors or smaller plasma or LCD TV for a fraction of the cost.

$150k of rare vino FTW!

No car? Have a drink!

No TV? Have a drink!

Don't feel like drinking. . . then just let the stuff appreciate.

plasma is definitely the poorer choice. in five years that porsche will still have value to it just case you wanna sell it, as for the plasma, it will be obsolete.
