Interesting Readings
Thanks Charly, I couldn't remember where that came from. Was it Forrest Whittaker's character that told the story?
And how's that for a coincidence. Wasn't the founder of the KKK named Forrest? Got that one from Forrest Gump!

I think David Duke's ramblings, those of the KKK and the American Nazi Party on the subject of Jews are all mild in comparison to the media Shamma is used to reading and believing.

Media which report that all the Jews who normally work in the World Trade Center did not show up for work on September 11, 2001. Media which take fabricated facts like the above and deduce from them that it was the Jews who destroyed the World Trade Center - that the Arabs were foully maligned by this deception. Media which reports and applauds the Syrian defense minister's proclamation, "If a Muslim stands before a Jew it is the Muslim's duty to kill him." Shamma's comment, summarized, was if true, what do you expect followed by a litany of all the imagined wrongs Israel has done to Syria.
Now Shamma finds comfort in the words of David Duke, words which I would bet have a familiar if not muffled ring.

I think you are casting Shamma in a light he doesn't deserve. You are too quick to assume.
Shamma presented one passage by David Duke which provided another side to the events. Doesn't mean he believes it (although he should have made his stance more clear IMHO), doesn't mean he's subscribes to the Syrian defence minister's point of view.
After the events of September 11 one of the greatest crimes we can commit is to be too rash in judgement. Ascribe stereotypes to others based on little evidence.
Unless you can substantiate your claim that you know 'the media Shamma is used to reading and believing' it is cruel and unfair to ascribe any beliefs to him.

Why do you think Shamma found David Duke's comments "interesting reading"? Do you think Shamma does not agree with Duke's diatribe to which he referred us for edification?

Actually, I had a brief pm correspondence with Shamma. I didn't quote his comments, but believe I accurately conveyed their sense and context.
