Default Ipod Battery Replacement?

Hi All,

I've got a 3rd gen iPod (the one with the touch buttons on the top) and my battery has gone down the crapper. I've heard it's a pretty cheap and easy process to replace the battery with an aftermarket one. Any suggestions on where I can order one of these batteries? Any tips on installing? Thanks

Two routes for this iirc - Send it to Apple and get a reconditioned iPod back with a fresh battery, or do it yourself with a kit. I think the price difference is like $10-40. Go to http://www.ilounge.com for all the answers and options.

For example, for 5g iPods - $30 - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/ipod/revi...eplacement-kit/

Apple - $65 - http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery/

But with Apple you get refurbed (or maybe new), so if your iPod is scratch and beat up, you get a nice shiny new body and screen too.

Thank you so much! Great info. I think I may just send my ipod in to apple. Sounds like I can get a new or close to new ipod for only $65! Worth the money if you ask me.
