Iraq
well im persian, and i know that when americans say our country they pronounce it I-Ran, but when a persian pronounces it, they pronounce it E-Raan. It has to do with the accent and the language.

FWIW, I pronounce Iraq Ee-rak (rhymes with duck).
E-Rock
americans tend to come up with their own little ways of saying stuff.
one thing that's funny is that when the war began, many of the news casters didn't know exactly how to pronounce it, E-Rock or I-Rack (I used to hear both on the news). It seems like most have settled on the wrong way of pronouncing it
