I don't know for sure what happened to the guy after the crash. I agree with all those concerned people in regards to the welfare of the people involved.
The reason I started this post was so people could tell some of their weird stories for all to read. My story was car related only because the post about tailgaters reminded me of the story, and gave me the idea that some of you might have some story to tell also.

I dont agree with shooting people who tailgate. But I do think its ok to shoot in their general direction.

Not really a tailgating story but it was pretty funny (no one got hurt, just really scared I think). About 2 years ago I was on the 10 freeway in El Monte California - a real shithole BTW. I had never been to the area before. I was in the fast lane doing about 75 when I saw my exit coming up, I should have just caught the next one but I was in a hurry so I looked at my mirror and looked over my shoulder. It was all clear so I did a 4 lane change towards the exit. While doing so I managed to trap a pick up behind me who was merging on to the freeway. Well he never got on, he was forced to exit because of my 4 lane change. Once we got to the stop I could see him yelling at me waving his hands. When the light turned green I proceeded and he pulled up next to me and was yelling like crazy. At the next light I started to appologize but he was too busy yapping, I thought he was gonna have a heart attack in his truck. After he asked me if I was stupid or something for the 3rd time I was getting fed up so I told him "Get over it, I said I was sorry" Thats when he started to get out of his car I wasnt worried about me, I was more worried about my car. Light turns green and I punch it, he gets in his truck and starts chasing me, he eventually got along side me again and was so busy yelling at me he didnt see the right lane was merging with mine. I slammed on my brakes while he was still looking at me and he went up on the curb and took out a bunch of bushes and came to a stop half on the curb and half off. By this time he is out of the car and about 100 feet ahead of me and starts running towards my car. I was stopped with about 5 cars behind me all honking. I immediately made a u turn and started going south and never looked back. I was pretty spooked at this point, so I parked at a 7-11 and rested up for a few minutes. This all took place in the span of about 7-10 minutes.

I admit it was my fault at first but when people get that crazy over something like that I think they are just a but off balance and I dont want any part of it.

Road rage can be a scary thing as it can bring out the worst in people. Glad to hear no was hurt.

My sister was involved in a similar incident where she cut someone off while driving to work. The SOB drove up beside her, pulled out his gun, and waved it at her. My sister was only 16 years-old at the time; not the best driver or anything, but she clearly didn't deserve to be treated like that. She sped up and rushed towards work with the crazed dipsh*t following her. When she arrived at the restaurant, he drove off.

Welcome to Dallas. Today, she has a license to carry. Sad, isn't it?

One time a friend and I were comming home from a concert, driving along the seawall (for anyone whos from the area.) Basically main street or "the drag" in any town. 2 lanes each way, turning lanes etc...

So we are at a red light in the right turn lane. A horn starts blaring at me from behind...etc...but I am not really worried about it, after all; it is a red light and there are cars blocking me from turning.

Light turns green, I go, and this little plastic saturn revs up (as high as saturns can rev) and comes passed me in the left lane. He keeps speeding up switches into right lane.

Fast forward about 300 meters we are stopped next to each other at a stopsign...He is shouting at me pumping his fist out the window. He peels out, but doesnt notice the curb because he is still hanging out the window yelling at us. He hops the curb and we hear a loud pop and the bottom of the car grinding on the curb.

Karma.

Another time I was driving along the seawall going the speed limit. During the summer my town is filled with driving tourists, which means we have lots and lots of cops handing out tickets.

So this big jacked up black truck is tailgating me like mad. He is honking and such...so I continue driving the speed limit. As soon as there is a break in traffic he swerves into the left lane, revs up and flys past me before swerving back into the right lane. As he is doing this a cop pulls out of an adjacent parking lot with his lights on.

I hope the truck driver could see my smile as I passed him on the side of the road.

Here's my tailgating story.
I was working as a maintenance worker at a hotel in Charleston SC (1979) on the second shift. When I left the hotel some kids started to follow me onto the expressway and were tailgating me through the ramp, where they fell back. When I merged onto the E-way after a few minutes there was a car right on my ass so I did a brake check on him. All of a sudden the blue/red flashes started, it was an SC state trooper, he pulled me over, into the median. He wanted to know why I brake checked him, I told him about the kids and he told me never to do it again. The front of his pants had a big wet stain on them, he either pissed himself or spilled his coffee, but he was shaking like a leaf through all of this. I didn't get a ticket either, and I don't think he will fly up on anyone's tail again.

Since this has turned into a tailgating story.

My ITR with R compound rubber means that I can take the right hander onto the highway at a much faster rate than a riced out civic.

Those big ol' ricer front ends really don't do well when they hit curbs and shrubbery.
