Default isp email adress?

Ok, long story short: we got cable a while ago, Cox (our service provider) is supposed to give us an email adress. However, I never learned it at the beginning. Is there anyway to find it now (besides contacting Cox, I'm keeping that as a last resort)

Sometimes they give a weird username especially if you have a common last name.

I'm through Road Runner and I've never used their email address.

yah, the only reason I ask is that forums and other sites sometimes require your isp email (like s2ki is now, for example) and wont accept free email like yahoo or hotmail

most companies use the following formats:

firstname.lastname@isp.com (ie john.doe@isp.com)
firstname_lastname@isp.com (ie john_doe@isp.com)
firstletteroffirstnameLASTNAME@isp.com (jdoe@isp.com)

hope it's one of these.

really? Outlook or Outlook Express has always worked, either with dial-up or Cable.

When setting up profile in Outlook or Outlook Express it will have to be setup as a POP3 mail, which means you will have to know the mail server and the smtp server (ie mail.isp.com and smtp.isp.com). Your ISP should have this info posted somewhere on their website or just call them they will tell you.

later.

TCPIP is TCPIP..... shouldnt matter if it's cable, dialup, dsl, or any other network media.

yah ok i was wrong, i don't have an account for outlook express, and its not the cable, but it relates to my "incoming" and "outcoming" mail servers, and I dunno what to do. It gives me a pull-down menu with "POP3", "IMAP" and "HTTP" servers and I dunno wtf to do...

edit: maybe i shoulda tried reading QT's last post...
