It's All About the Money???
I don't believe that money equals happiness. I can prove that money changes the way you live which can relieve many of the stresses that lead to unhappiness.
My brother while still at Cal got offered $50K to work at DTT. I thought this is great considering how much I was making at his age. Plus it's a college grad entry level position. Now to think that someone one year younger than my brother, working at a SHOE store nonetheless (and mind you this store is in the mall) is making $60k without any education or lengthy experience makes me wonder. 1) does my wife have her facts right, 2) is this guy for real, 3) maybe if Al Bundy works a little longer and gets promoted, being married with children won't be so bad.
I think that we would see a whole bunch of people saying, when I grow up I wanna be a retail store manager.
I dream of S. That's a good job.

tell her to get an education.
So many of my co-workers (all of them 2 years or less of college) are bitching about how my current boss is treating them. They want to leave but can't because of lack of education so they would have to start out at low pay (even though they are "skilled"). Many of them say they wish they had gone to school.
My boss knows I can walk if I don't like the working condition so he has to treat me nicer. The co-workers without education are more easily replaced.
As the work force become more globalized, you'll need an education to stay competitive.

this rich vs happiness argument has to factor in a lot of variables, these being:
- were u born into wealth vs creating it urself
- if ur wealthy, have u actually seen how the other half of the population lives (or better still visit a 3rd world country)
- wealthy and time rich (playboy/girl who lives it up and has the time of their lives) vs wealthy and time poor (has money because they work their guts out but unfortunately doesnt have the time to use/spend it) vs poor and time rich (bum who just bums around felling shitty at the rest of the world but too lazy to do anything about it) vs poor and time poor (poor person who works hard but cant escape the cycle due to alcohol, gambling, drugs or a myriad of reasons that they r in control of but feel that they cannot control because the establishment is holding them back
therefore see where u fit in, coz no matter how bad it is there's always someone else worse off then u. visiting 3rd world countries or even developing countries r eye-opening and makes u thankful for wat u have.
