MOST drivers in LA drive like old ladies and don't pay attention to what's going on around them.
I hate driving in LA. That's why I no longer work up there.
Seriously, though, down here in Orange County it's a bit of a mix. I honestly cannot remember the last time I got upset at Prius for disrupting the flow of traffic in the fast or carpool lanes. I've seen plenty that are slow, but they're almost always in the slow lanes. I've also seen plenty that drive as if the faster they go the slower the effects of global warming.
I have a friend who drives a Prius, and I swear she's one of the fastest drivers I know. She's even had to go around slower moving Corvettes on the freeway.
... but we all know Corvette drivers are a whole other issue.

P.S. Did anyone else notice that when you replied to this thread that right above the post box it says "replying to its almost cliche now.." I dunno it made me laugh because it confused me.
80's = Volvos = Car for people who weren't "car people" who wanted a nice, safe ride.
90's = Camry's = Car for people who weren't "car people" who wanted, a nice, safe, reasonable, ride.
00's = Prius = Car for people who aren't "car people" who want a nice, safe, fuel efficient , and environmentally minimal (well until. . . ) ride.
Folks, the people haven't changed, just the fargon cars.
