There's still more than test flights of top secret aircraft going on there IMO. So are people allowed to drive up to the entrance now like a normal military base or is there still the perimeter around the base that you are still restricted from going past?

didnt the UK defense ministry start releasing UFO files sometime last year as part of the new freedom of information laws? what have the files proven as of late?
the aticle posted by the OP suggests that area51 exists but there are no such things as aliens or UFOs... so can we expect to find nothing from those UFO files released in UK?

there was actually a show on discovery or the like about this not long ago.
there is no physical border but signs that let you know if you cross you can be shot and killed.
The guy making the film showed the camera where some of the hidden sensors were,....so when a person or vehicle crossed, it alerted the authority and within seconds there were vehicles posted on every hill keeping a look out and even some times the planes and choppers were sent in.
There was a guy who worked on the base years ago that went public on a Las Vegas news channel sometime ago which was what sparked the interest.
