I have a persuasive speech due tomorrow, and I'm going to be doing it on this subject. Hopefully get everybody to agree with me that its actually better to be single (I'm not, but anyway). It seemed like a fun topic to talk about but I'm running out of stuff to talk about. For example, I'm going to be talking about the benefits and such (gonna be richer, you do stuff for yourself, etc).

What would you guys talk about? Any help would be appreciated!

I don't see my freedom being cut down when I'm with someone. I do what I want anyway (ok - I won't flirt around but it's not like the Germans are great flirters anyway )

On the other hand - if you're single you don't have to worry to get your heart broken!

You don't have to be "nagged" or have an argument start over stupid stuff that you have long forgotten about and obviously she hasn't.

Its a really tough thing. Its very nice to be single but when it comes down to it, it is nice to have someone there for you. Someone who you can trust and share all of lifes little things with.

 

the grass is always greener on the other side...when I am single, I wish I had someone close...but when I have a girlfriend, I wish I were single....

 

We are hard wired to want to be with people. Hard to argue with behavoral predispositions.

 

The speech went good. I just had to use my chance and pick on girls in general a little bit. Overall, it turned out to be pretty interesting and funny.
