Exclamation Jewlery shopping? ring?

Christmas is coming up, and besides buyign toys for my neice, more toys for diffrents childrens programs I volunteer for, I'm also going all out for my mom this year. buying her like a $1k ring. The prob is I'm not used to ring shopping since I'm still pretty young and havne't had any gfs that I've planned to marry yet lol. So any advice? I'm guessing the best places to go to are the non mall jewelry stroes? Do you have to haggle when you buy this stuff? I want to get the best ring at 1k or a lil higher probably diamond. thanks!

I think a necklace or earrings would be much better for a son-mother relationship.

Yes you can haggle on the price. I usually go to one of those jewelry direct places which house around 10-20 private jewelers all under one roof. You can leverage pricing more effectively this way. Ask your dad if he has a preferred jeweler, this way you can be somewhat sure they will take care of you.

Good luck.

If you want to save a large portion of the 300% mark-up on jewelry go to:

http://www.shinythingz.com/

I know the owner of this website personally and know she will work with you and save you BIG $$$$.

Tiffany's is blue not green.

The truth is that Costco is actually the best bang for the buck. They have the same quality as any other jeweler, but their markup is only like 10% compared to the 100% most jewelers charge.
