job interview advice?!?
Make sure you look nice. Clean and combed hair, shave, no gum, and make sure you are wearing pants. After checking to make sure that you have pants on, make sure you are zipped. I had 3 people come through my office in 1 day for interviews with their fly down.......I thought it was a new fashion statement.

the s2k is a gift from my parents and my grandmother for various reasons. I have 0 work experience, so i can only get peon jobs. The interview went fairly well, ill know if i got the job in a day or two. When he asked my greatest weakness, i almost said kryptonite. I have an interview at an ice cream place later and ill probably end up working there because the theater only wanted to pay me 6 an hour. Everyone else i know on their first job this summer is getting paid 7-8. Ill see what the ice cream place offers at 3:30. Thanks for everyones advice!
Think of a few skills that you have that you know any interviewer will like. Now, think of ways that you can fire a question back at the interviewer to get him interested. Ask him if that skill yuo have is valuable. Then sight specific examples of how you demostrate that skill. Afterwards, seal the deal by saying, "wow, we agreed on quite a few things that you hold valuable to your company that i have to offer you. How did I do?" If you felt comfortable, you should be able to ask how you did right there. Here's an example for you of an interview that I nailed (pre-note: helps to research the company ahead of time):
"So, tell me a little bit about yourself."
"Well, I did a little research and found that your company really likes a micro-managment approach. If is that pretty accurate?"
"I would say that's pretty accurate, although we think of it more as process control."
"Well Sir, I have amazing communication skills, which I think you would agree are pretty important in this kind of management situation, yes?"
"Well sure"
"I worked for ____ where they also practiced micro-management, and I was always able to communicate cleary with both people above and below me. I was often recognized as employee of the month by my supervisors for my good communiaction skills."
etc ect ect. Now, you haven't had work experience, so you cant draw from another job, but you get the idea. Just remember you are persuading the interviewer, not answer quesitons.
-get his attention
-create a need for him (focus on a skill you have that he needs)
-establish criteria (make sure he agrees that he needs that skill)
-use past experience to represent yourself
-close it by getting his agreement
It's really hard, especially in your first interview, to flip things around and start asking him questions, but I promise you, interviewers will love this technique.
