Joe Millionaire
The one aspect of Joe Millionaire that amazes me is the degree to which these women will make fools of themselves assuming the last one standing will lead a happily ever after life with a man they hardly know who just HAPPENS to, in their eyes, be hideously wealthy. What's next...the dunk tank of Love? That's right folks...sitting naked above a six-foot high container of cold water (to no doubt contain his woody from the site of all these hotties lobbing for him) is Mr. Right. The lucky girl who gets to call him "honey" for a lifetime is the one who can lactate the bullseye from 20-feet away.
Gotta love Fox...They're great at creating porn for women.
I think both men and women will watch the show just to see these women brutalize each other in their quest to be Miss Right.
Don't even get me started on ABC's Bachelorette. Another train wreck in slow motion. Today's society, weened on instant gratification, 300 channels, drive-up coffee houses, etc. has now managed to convince a fair number of folks that love can somehow be bottled or manufactured and sold to the highest bidder (or survivor). I guess I'm an old fool (41) but love is like bread...it has to be made fresh each day. It can't be based on something so easily lost. A relationship built on wealth is about as superficial as one built on beauty. I hardly doubt any of these women would have signed on for the show if the guy was a plumber making $20K/year. It might be entertainment but the current trends of these relationship-based reality shows seem to perpetrate the tired cliches that men seek beauty and women lust for money. Hmmm. Perhaps it is reality TV afterall.
I'll pass.
I'm going back to Seinfeld. Afterall, that show is "breathtaking."

Russ
I think that even if the women knew how supposedly poor Joe is, they would still volunteer for the show. After all, alot of the people who go on these shows are wannabe actors and actresses. The bottom line is people just want to be on t.v.
On another note, is everyone going to watch tonight's episode like myself?

Can you tell me who's that girl on your avatar? Where can I get more of her photos?
