i was speeding around san jose last night in the rain and i came up on a riced out civic Si. of course he wanted to race so i raced him. i downshifted into 3rd and dusted him of course. all of a sudden an suv tried to cut me off but i swerved around him on the shoulder and then saw him spin out into the jersey barrier in my rearview. sucks to be him. good thing i won that race because then i really fvcked up. i was too busy watching the old geizer in the explorer die that i brushed so close to another black/black s2k (anyone here?) that i knocked my right side-view mirror off. of course, a CHP saw me and i got a reckless ticket and he told me to slow down. anyone give me legal advice? i can't afford another ticket.

Legal advice?! Drive more carefully and don't race on the street.

LOL, the use of the lower case only font adds that extra touch of credibility too!

Tell me this is a joke right?

No! Then here's my advice: Sell the S.

You'll not only be doing us all a favour, but you'll have enough money to pay the ticket. And with the left over employ a large Tongan guy to slap your forehead repeatedly.

And get that billoddy SHIFT key fixed!

I hope it's a joke, because you would have had to be going substantially faster than the other S2000 to knock off your side view mirror!

Yeah, here's my legal advice to you:

a) We all know the consequences of driving too fast in the wet with this car - DON'T DO IT!

b) Race on the TRACK, not the street

c) Pay attention to what's in front of you

I too really hope this is some kind of joke. I can say I've had my fair share of racing days on the street, but nothing to the point of knocking off mirrors or directly endangering others on the road due to my lack of observations.

Become aware of what is around you - and I don't mean look at the other cars, but more importantly, look and see if its safe to do what you are doing. I'm not going to say "don't race in the street" because that will not prevent you from doing so, but on occassion, when you see its just not the right place or the right time to do so, then just refrain from doing so.

Its the peer pressure that gets you - not anything else - you are suckered into it from the other guy - who is your peer whether you like it or not. So don't be a follower and let back on the gas and take it easy. You aren't going to prove anything to the other guy other than the fact that you can out drag him in a straight line because you have more dollars invested into your off-the-shelf performance car (yes, don't deny it, its a great car but that is what it is).

Choose your races carefully - you'd don't have to do it all the time.
