Nothing quite like spending taxpayer dollars to throw together a staged media event for the 2004 election

Not that it should surprise anyone.

i hear ya lee355. i couldnt agree with you more.

from the standpoint of the sailors on the ship that were deployed for 10 months (longest deployement ever for a nuclear carrier), it was really cool to see the president come to the ship. i wasnt on board because i left a couple days before he came but its a great feeling to have the president welcome you home. he chose our squadron and our plane to ride in so that was a bonus.

being out for 6 months on your way home and then getting told that you were heading back (morning of the new year, great way to start of the year) for and indefinite amount of time was really devestating for the moral of the people onboard. in the end, i am proud to have been part of the crew that was on that deployment because i know 1st hand all the hard work that they put in, surviving only because they knew that their friends and family were waiting for them back home.

I do believe in the necessity of armed forces, and although most liberals and semi-liberals (including myself) didn't agree with the war, we do have respect for our military. Best of luck.

they are talking about moving that very plane to the museum in pensacola, florida. im not too sure about my history but i think its the 1st time a president has ever flew on a navy plane. i think its a big deal for the navy since he always flies with AIR FORCE ONE. we named the bird NAVY 1.
