Default Just a fun brain teaser....

Three guys walk into a hotel, and ask the receptionist how much for the night.
$15 is what they are told, so each guy pays $5.

After they go up to their room, the receptionist realizes he forgot a special deal and their room was only supposed to be $10 a night. He takes $5 and gives it to the bell-boy and tells him to return it to the men.

On the way up, the bellboy realizes that 3 men can't really split $5 evenly so he takes $2 for himself, and splits the remaining $3 with the men, giving them a dollar each.

since each man got a dollar back, they really only paid $4 each. $4 times 3 men is $12 dollars, plus the $2 the bellboy took..... = $14. Where did the other dollar go? (since they originally paid $15)

I'll bite and play the naive one;

Paid $15 , BellBoy takes $2 now paid $13 (+$2 Tip)

Get $3 refund so paid $10 + $2Tip = $12

3 men $12 = $4 each plus $3 refund = $15 (original sum)

But I'm sure everyone knew the answer already !

How do you turn 2 equilateral triangles into 4 equilateral triangles of the same size?

Um...this only took me like 2 seconds to figure out...

The problem is because they did not pay the hotel $4 each...it's only $3.33.
