Cats hate citrus. I started using lemon cleaner on my counter tops to keep my parents cat off of them. I guess you could do something similar, find a citrus smelling top cleaner, or disinfectant and spray it on there.

If you end up shooting the cat with some projectile make sure you don't do it while the cats on your car, otherwise you risk doing damage to your car/top.

When I had this problem I went to Petsmart and purchased a plastic pad that you put on your couch to train pets to stay off. It has wires running through it and a small electrical unit on the end that will shock the piss out of anything that lays on it. Worked like a charm.
