Default Just recently got denied for cigarettes with my REAL ID

Ok I went to a 7-11 to buy me a pack of smokes. I gave them my license and she told me it was fake because the expiration date of my license doesn't match my date of birth. The expiration date is at the end of the month in 2008. I have a Virginia license, and I'm 21 years old.

Is there any legal action I can take against them?

They did you a favour in a weird sorta way, those things can kill you .. hmm, seriously though, sometimes it happens, especially if you look young..

That's hilarious! I don't think there's any legal action you can take. The same thing happened to my friend at a club once. We were all showing our IDs to the bouncer, and my friend's driver license was rejected as fake because he didn't look like the guy in the picture (the picture was taken years ago and he had different hair then). Sorry to hear, but this is still hilarious...

Btw, if it makes you feel any better, I was once carded for buying super glue from Wal-Mart. Apparently they want to make sure you're over 18 due to concerns over glue sniffing. The sad part is that I was 24 years old when I got carded.

I think legal action is a bit extreme for this. I'm sure there's another gas station within a close range, just go buy them from another place.

Its not the fact that it was denied, but the fact that she got an attitude with me and didnt even let me explain.

I had to leave my ID in Jillians to save a bowling lane, so while we were waiting we decided to run to the movie theatre in the mall and get movie tickets. I got carded for a movie ticket and they wouldn't let me get a ticket until I went to Jillians and got my ID back. I am 24, wtf its a movie. I went back to the same woman in line and was like....ok here is my ID!

Man...I once got turned down buying my friend a pack of cigs. They turned me down for not having holograms in my REAL ID!!! Turns out, I dont?! Last time the DMV didnt put my signature on my license and now they leave out the holograms?

yeah, not much you can do. my wife and i were detained for about 30 mins by a cop at a local bar that we are REGULARS at. the cop comes up, and asks for her id, she hands it to him, and he proceeds to ask her address, dob, and drivers license number. after she correctly answers all the question, the cop says "id really like to believe that this is you, but there is no way that you are 21" i explain to the cop that we are regulars, and all the bartenders know us, and he says, that he knows im a regular, but has never seen her in there before(we are always there together). but long story short, we had to sit in the cop car while for about 30 mins while he called everything in. he finally let us go after i told him to go ahead and arrest us, so i could let my lawyer handle it. didnt even get any compensation for the 2 beers we had to throw away while we had to go outside with him. im 24 and my wife is 22 but she looks about 17.

on another note i never get carded buying beer at 7-11, but always for lottery tixx.
