Keystroke Logger Programs
Spector Pro allows you to track computers that the client is installed on remotely.
It does email, chat, web, programs, screenshots and keystrokes.

You can set up filters so that it emails you whenever your child (or whoever) access forbidden sites etc.
I have run all the popular virus and spyware detectors on a computer with Spector installed and it did not detect it's presence (although there are new updates out now that take this into account)

damn it sucks that you guys are so untrustworthy. only do this shit if you really want to know and can either put up with what you know or take care of it like a gentleman not some crazed psycho that will end up on the 10'oclock news. be careful.
This topic is sensitive and always raises the issue of trust. I think it really depends for what purpose the software is used.
If you have a 13 year old daughter who likes to frequent chat etc then it's a parents responsibility to monitor their internet use (supervise and protect them). You can do this by standing there looking over their shoulder or by employing other methods. You do not (and should not) have to be privy to their entire communications but setting up trip words for certain situations can certainly be a good thing.
There is also valid cause for bosses to monitor employee communications in certain situations where it may be neccessary to protect the company from damage, lawsuits etc.
I think with monitoring software you are best to inform your kids or employees that you are doing it and that in itself should act as a deterrant to misuse.
Now when it comes to spying on your girlfriend or wife then that's a moral judgement each person must make. I personally could not live in a relationship where there was a need for this and therefore I disagree with it.

If you're just doing this because you're nosey...well, I'm glad you're not my boyfriend. If my SO did that he'd get an asskicking and lose my trust completely.
Trust and respect for privacy are two beautiful things.
