downer meat is usally meat from a cow thats not suitable for processing, usally a pregnant cow, a dead one or a beat up one wit open wounds... I think thats what it is from reading "the jungle"

You got it presidente. You guys do know alot of cows get fed with roadkill and other dead cows. Its all grinded up in some machine and fed to the cows. There was an article here in WA about calling the cows cannabalistic. It also isn't right to feed cows meat if they are vegetarians......Just not natural plus all the growth horomones they give them. All this news came to light as that scare in Yakima WA about the mad cow found here in the state of WA this past summer. Pretty interesting stuff. Kind of scared me but I love meat and I work out alot so I need that protein after a hard work out with the weights.

Remember that book from Junior high. So gross but I probably ended up eating fastfood after school lol. Didn't people also fall into the grinder or was it just body parts? I remember something about peopel dying in there.

and also the rats that would fall in...

side not bout the mad cow, it would spread bc they would grind up the dead cows or the unedible remains of the cow into food for the healthycow, an then in turn the healthy cows would get sick and just go on and on...

Yeh ruby I think it was the spinal bone which was being grinded up and was the only part that leads to mad cow.
