Damn. This guy apparently thought the technology that made it somewhat easy for him to target a bunch of well-meaning people and re-ID himself after the crime as a different person wouldn't keep some sort of back history on everything. The funny thing is, if he had stayed old tech, he probably could have gotten away with everything it appears he did. The shameless creation of accounts to try and cover his tracks is, while inconclusive, highly suspicious. The other telling aspect is that he's the ONLY person defending his side of the story. Nobody is coming to his aid directly, and the only ones that are calming things down are simply cautioning others about creating a huge, embarrassing dust up for the forum should the guy be found innocent. But nobody is on this guy's side, which tells me he keeps the members he has met up with at arms length so they can't readily ID him, providing enough plausible deniability if anyone gets suspicious. Looks like he has finally dug his own grave. Multiple forums with pissed off members waxing angry for 20+ pages about rip-offs doesn't help either.

I don't think you would see her with the A team....Probably not even the B team.
Maybe the midweek $3.99 steak and fries team
I dunno, somebody on that thread did mention that she's pretty good at what she does (on and off the job).

small-time asshats who rip off a dozen people will just never get the kind of attention necessary to get the police involved. they'll write it off as too much effort and go back to ... whatever it is they do. seems like all they do is give out speeding tickets, judging by all recent reports.
The police department has become a "for-profit" organization. Their priority is writing tickets (speeding/parking/registration violations/etc) so they can make money. "To serve and protect" is much farther down the list. I don't blame the officers that are out there just doing their job... I blame the bureaucracy that makes the decisions about their assignments & responsibilities.

I had a car stripped when I lived in Austin, and the officer that came out and took the report told me point-blank that nobody was actually going to investigate anything. The report would be filed, a 'detective' would be assigned to the case and that's the last I'd hear about it.

I think it has more to do with the amount of crap they have to fill their time. Granted many PDs are asked to fill ticket quotas and other such garbage, but it's not like there isn't plenty o' crime going on. They're going to handle GTA, immigrant drop houses, drug busts (which look great on the 10 o'clock news for the masses), murder, and more significant theft all day long because, frankly, it's just more important.

More important to whom? I pay their salary (except for the part that they subsidize by writing tickets, of course), so they should be there for me when I need them.

If you go to a steakhouse and order (and pay for) an 8oz ribeye, would you be satisfied if you never got served because the grillmaster only served people that ordered filet mignon or steaks that are larger than 8oz? Same concept. I pay for a service, I expect that service to be performed.
