hey, i have that HD...it's pretty good. And it is a 7200rpm HD. The only difference is that I have it installed in my MAC. :-D

My hard drive is a 7200 rpm hard drive and I got it fixed. The hard drive is stupid fast. How I fixed it is explained in the post above yours.

I noticed it said "Windows Caching" :: OFF.

Why is your cache off? That'll CRUSH performance... as memory is mannny times faster than the disk.

Windows XP Pro:

Double-click My Computer
Right-click your hard drive (C:, etc) and choose Properties
Click the Hardware tab
Select your hard drive again and choose Properties again
Click the Policies tab
Select "Enable write caching on the disk"

Search for "write caching" on Google if your Windows 2000 click path is slightly different.
