Default Laid off last week

I was laid off by my company last week. I could see it coming, I worked in the marketing department for an accounting firm and they went over their budget by a little over 200k this past year.

It was my first job post college, so now its back to square one.

If anybody knows of any quality jobs in the midwest I'll be happy to accept your PM

Thanks and stay warm this winter!

Midwest is a bear right now, too many ties to domestic automotive. My former company is hq'd in Chicago, had about 500 employees at the start of the year. I was let go w/50 others in March, second round of cuts was about a month ago, let go 150, followed by a third cut of about another 50 last week. The majority of the cuts were up high, including CEO, regional VPs, etc. A few tips. Make finding a job your new job and work at it at least 6 hours a day. Use your network, not just professional but personal, never know who may know of an opening. Finally, keep a positive attitude. Good luck.

Good luck to you.

The job market is extremely soft. Even local governments are putting hiring freezes in place and asking employees to take time off unpaid. There are very few sectors that are not hit by this recession.

Have you thought about futhering your education?
