Default Lebron James Poll:

So how do you think Lebron James will do in the NBA. Will he live up to the hype that has been created for this high school phenomenon.

I think he's going to be an average NBA player. 15pts, 5rbs, 5assists, a ton of turnovers (3 or 4 a game), a low shooting percentage (38%), a lot of fouls (5 a game), no defense (plays on the cavs after all). He'll be popular with the kids and get voted on to the all star team, if he's healthy. But his numbers won't deserve the recognition. His team will win 32 games at most. When all is said and done, he'll be overhyped but he'll still be a NBA caliber player. But not a superstar in the sense of Jordan.

Since I work for Nike and we signed him to a $90 million deal I could care less what caliber of a player he is... just as long as he sells shoes!

Hmm, that's not a correct statement. Lebron will only be able to sell shoes if he is an true top notch caliber player. If Lebron becomes the sixth man on a team, bounces from team to team, because he is an average player. He'll never sell any shoes. Nike is banking on the fact that Lebron will be a superstar.

You've been watching him since he was 16? But how many people can sell shoes? AI? Jordan? who else? Beyond those two, it's really a toss up as to whether or not it's really worth it. When it comes down to it, is it the shoe or the person wearing the shoe? Kobe's shoes for Adidas were nasty as anything on the market, he couldn't sell them for peanuts. If he goes to Nike and sells shoes, is it Kobe or the shoe? We'll just have to wait till the season starts to see if Lebron lives up to the hype. Somehow, I just don't think so.
