I hate to use "underground rap" but I guess it the best way to descride what I'm looking for. Looking for lesser known hip-hop or rap artists and/or songs. I tend to like songs with a good flow and kind of an old school feel to them.

One guy that has been huge in the Philly scene is The Last Emperor. He reminds me a little bit of Common and he had some tracks on And 1 mixtapes. Another guy coming up locally is Joey Jihad, but I haven't heard a lot of his stuff. He looks like Lil' Wayne but hopefully that's not an indication of his skills.

There was a lesser known rapper I liked listening to. I forgot his name, but he always seemed to be smoking the lala. I think he was called something Dog or Dogg.

 

As annoying as those who believe Wu-Tang is old school.
