Just had a work meeting...10 minutes maybe, everyone was called into the conference room...

Not the same thing I know... just felt the need to get that off my chest
When my company has major announcements, they usually have a meeting where the upper executives present the announcement, then that is followed by a series of meetings with the directors, then senior managers, then managers... and each meeting just re-hashes exactly what was said in the original meeting.

I used to report to 3 different VPs. Now I only report to 2 because we let one go.
I decided I'm only going to report to one and nobody seems to mind, so I try to connect on a weekly basis and give an update on what I'm doing. Most weeks I can't reach that boss as he works out of an office a couple thousand miles away , so I just keep on working.
Last time I reached him was a couple weeks to talk about why business sucks right now and there aren't many positive results coming from my desk, he mentioned that we'd be discussing an upcoming raise for me in the next couple months. Ummmmm....yay?
I actually don't want a raise unless I deserve it, or I'm going to be quickly kicked out if lay offs happen again.
Corporations remind me of my Roomba, moving blindly in one direction with acceptable results until they hit a wall and spin randomly in a new direction, only to ultimately yeild the same result, spinning around and taking off in a new direction yet again.

Stabbed person in the back and other places with needle. Surf net. Repeat. Oh later I have to, yes same thing. Oh then later...make people sleep while sound waves obliterate stones in their kidneys.
