^BWAHAHAHA!
Has anyone seen those commercial where that smug biznatch who runs Lifelock go around with his Social Security Number on the side of a truck and a bullhorn daring anyone to steal his identity? Well, it seems at least 87 people took him up on the offer and a few succeeded.
This has to be the power of the internets at work. Thank goodness Al Gore came along and invented it because it's serious business.

What the hell is the point of the suit?
So use the service, if your identity is stolen they'll cover up to a million in costs and hassles to get things fixed right. That's your guarantee.
That's like saying you have a car under warranty, something covered breaks, then you go sue anyway even though the company is covering the costs incurred to fix it.
F-in stupid.

$500? I thought their spiel was that they'd help prevent identity theft (did they claim to 100% eliminate it?) and compensate any losses arising from identity theft up to $1 million. I always thought of it like auto insurance - they're not actually guaranteeing to prevent loss or harm, just to compensate if it does happen.
