The light bulb in my refrigerator
Can someone Jewish please enlighten us on what this guy is talking about??
I was looking to buy a light bulb for the refrigerator at work when i came across this srticle on google. It's a nice article..makes you wish you were jewish a bit
but i still don't understand why he needs to take the light bulb out of his refrigerator for that !!! why can't he just take it out on saturdays only? and if he is going to take he light out, what about the refrigerator itself beeing plugged in?? i don't get it.

You're not supposed to do any type of work on the shabbas, which involves turning on lights, cooking, etc. Some people use timers to have the lights automatically turn on at night; however, in a weird sense you're turning on the refrigerator light by opening the door. It is just a modern sillyism, if that makes any sense.
Why not unplug the frig. on Friday night so it doesn't have to do any work either?
Why not just have Amish day once a week. Throw the breaker and light a candle.
I respect and embrace all religions, but the sacrament and practice in some just confuse the hell out me!
