Linkin Park: Meteora
I think they are a little one-dimensional.... I don't follow that genre very much so I don't know what I'm really talkin about, but some groups or artists tend to follow the same formula that made them famous in the first place... money speaks volumes... Another is Coldplay, same style all the time, they'll make their money, but versatility should be implemented more in today's music, no matter what genre, rather than another radio friendly CD...

havent heard it, but hybrid theory was like a real short album wasnt it, 40 mins, couldnt they think of enough material
all the nu metal- rap woth hard rock is not my scene, they got catchy riffs sometimes and beats but thats it, i prefer quality music that evolves, which bands like incubus and, most probably linkin park are not doing as they are probably cashing in while they can.
bands like u2 (early stuff, not zooropia), early springsteen, are classics and they have evolved their sound with each of their previous albums, not making them just a newer version of the same stuff.
in terms of newer bands i like heavier stuff like disturbed, sevendust and audioslave, i despised rage against the machine but enjoyed soundgarden.
i might check the new alum out but i guess it might the same old shite

Meteora is a pretty good cd, but what irked me was the fact that I had to pay more than the price of a regular cd for it b/c it came with a "special edition" dvd and extras for their website. Screw that stuff - I don't care about some "The Making of" dvd or special access to band photos. I basically paid twice as much for Meteora than Hybrid Theory and they both have the same number of tracks, which brings me to another point - their albums are generally short. I have heard that LP often struggled with completing a full set in concert because of the lack of material they had. I suppose the Meteora album almost doubles their repertoire, but I'm still pretty sure they have to play every song on their albums to finish a set.
Meteora has a similar sound, but I think LP has proven that they are capable of a wider range with the Reanimation cd. Although it is basically a remixed Hybrid Theory, there are new songs on there and they all have a more hip hop-oriented perspective. The hip hop/rock fusion genre is very limited, but I think that Linkin Park has been able to take it in a different direction than their predecessors such as Limp Bizkit.
