Default Locating military personnel

My best friend from high school joined the army a few years after we graduated. I kept up with him for a while and the last time we spoke he was stationed in VA Beach. It's been about 5 years now and I have no idea what his phone number is or even where he is. Does anyone know of a way to locate military personnel?

^ or Facebook if his name is not too generic.

I'm uninformed but I don't know if there is a publicly available registry for the military

If he is signed up on military.com, you could probably find him.

i never have any luck with myspace searches. i cant even find people I know for fact are on there

I seem to have found something on him. He's 88L (watercraft engineer) which sounds right and it says he's in FL, but that's it.
