The F-22 and F-35 might be the last manned fighters that the US makes. Depends on how technology evolves in the next 10-20 years.

I bet aerospace companies will find some way to justify excessive per unit costs even though these unmanned planes are supposed to be inexpensive.

Uh oh... another nozzle-nazi!!! And I have to fly with a bunch of Marine Harrier guys everyday, too. (Actually, we have one instructor who flew Harriers with the Brits on an exchange tour. Has nothing but praise for those guys.)

i can totally see it now: unmanned combat aircraft, unmanned subs, umanned ships, pretty soon we'll be fighting each other with robots, and then of course the robots will turn on the humans, and we all become those "energizer batteries" for The Matrix and we all have to wait for Neo

No, it's going to be like that episode of Startek where we have the computers fight for us and tell us what the casualties are. Then just have people show up to get killed at the casualty centers.
