Ah, yes. The Mazda RX-7. My favorite car, second only to the S2000. What a gorgeous car.

I talked to the kid that owns it and he says that there is around 100,000 G's in the car. its a 3 rotor twin turbo "like the plate says" you aint gonna catch me flexing on this guy at the stop lite, that car will hand me my ass on a tray with greens on the side!. He said that he raced a viper on the freeway and walked away from him big time. the autocross instructor drove the car and he said it was incredible "one of the best handling cars I have ever driven".

also remember that 550hp rotary is ALOT more in piston terms, and the RX7 is probably the most worshipped track car in japan.

That is indeed an absolutely beautiful car, those pictures don't do it justice (no offense Mike ). To see it, and especially to hear it in motion was breathtaking. The owner is a friend of Jae, or Platinum on this board - maybe he can chime in with more details on the car.

And to make us all feel a bit better about our cars, I should note that myself and a couple other S2000s posted quicker times that day. Granted, it was the kid's first autocross...
