it was pretty awesome being able to hold something that is such a big part of canadian culture.

 

We were in Regina attending the CN equivalent of the Emmy's (Gemini's) as we were nominted for a couple of things. Unfortunately, we were up against ourselves (both shows in same category) and didn't end up winning anyway.

Anyway, for some reason, the Stanley Cup was at the show - we're still not sure why. So, i stand up during one of the comemrcial breaks to stretch my legs and i see this guy with this huge case that has the NHL logo on it in the hallway - i was like, naw, it can't be.

Me and my colleague run out, and ask if it's the cup...the guy's like "yup". My guy has his camera on him and we ask if we can snap a couple of pics - he says sure, but make it quick.

and so there you have it.....happenstance.

at least i got to hold it before any current Maple Leaf will!!
