Well, there isn't any: "good, cheap beer" is an oxymoron.

However . . . .

I happen to like PBR. And I will drink bud light if it's cheap or around. Depends on how close I am to pay day.

PBR is good for what it is - I also have fond memories of Carling Black Label

I am not a big beer guy and I am not sure what you mean by truly cheap, but I think Grainbelt Premium is ok if you can get that near you. A case that has been in hot weather will taste skunky though.

LaBatt Blue taste decent to me as well.

Otherwise I only like a few of the darker beers or red ales. Like the Sam Adams Black or Dixie's Blackened Voodoo. But they are not cheap.

cool. don't think i've seen that first one.... but then i'm in ohio.

i had a blind taste test the other night at the bar w/ a bunch of friends between the three big light beers - bud miller and coors. the test was to name which one each cup was.

no one could consistently tell them apart, although a lot of people did get coors right.

If you ever find em in bottles be sure to give em a try. Maybe its just that I feel less white trash when drinking them but I say they definitely taste better.

Read the article: cheap is well-defined therein.
