I don't agree with anyone in the video. The kids broke the rules seeminingly on purpose. The officer went over his limits in both a legal and moral sense. Whatever happened to the days when they were peace officers and not cops anyway? Actions like his lose respect for all officers which only leads to more incidents like this.

Two sides to every story. Offenders broke the rules, offenders ran from police (thankfully for them they were white any other skin color and they would have gotten shot), offenders challenged the cop. The cop showed pretty good restraint in not "restraining them" further.
Kids, what kind of lame a$$ excuse is that? They were given a order the failed to follow it, they were laughing and not taking it seriously ( "get me my hat"). In other parts of the world the over indulgent, never at home, both parents working, mommy and daddy's of these "kids" would have had jr. delivered inside a body bag.
They got off lucky, my childhood buddy is employed in LA County. He would have sprayed them just for grins. Stay away from Staple Center at nights weekends if you don't want to run into him. Only person I know with a shorter fuse than me

i believe the kids involved or one of their parents tried to appeal to the cop's boss or somebody else, and the cop didn't get in any trouble because the higher authority (whoever it was) after seeing the tape stated that the cop did everything by the book. some kids started running away (evading a police officer), and some started surrounding the officer which is a no-no. i am not a fan of cops whatsoever but you gotta do what you gotta do.
