Yeah, we do have our share of asshole cops in MD. As for strict cops, Virginia seems to be the worst, esp. w/ speeding tickets.

given the level of frustration that slower-than-the-limit drivers inflict on the rest of us, i'm ok with this

I'm perfectly ok with this, I can't stand when people go less than the required speed limit...

Its puzzling he received a ticket.. as many others said, here in St Louis it will say a minimum speed along with maximum. But people who cannot drive atleast the speed limit need to stay off the road they are a nuisance.

If he is in the left lane I am fine with it. If he was in the right lane cop was being a dick and trying to justify pulling the guy over to see if he was drunk.

I have a friend that is a State Trooper in Louisiana and he did the same thing. They guy was going the speed limit in the left lane out of three. But he wrote the ticket for impeding the flow of traffic.

I ran into this situation yesterday. My buddy and I were on our way to get my car after we finished golfing, and this tool was driving 35 mph in a 55 mph road. WTF. After laying on the horn and flashing brights at the retard, we ended up having to pass him while both cars were turning right onto another street, which happened to actually be a 35 mph road. As we were "speeding" away from the d-bag in the newish camry (we were in a 1999 S10), we got the chance to see a train of 8-10 cars already piled up behind him.

so this makes no sense essentially what the cop is saying is break the law. Just drive as fast as the traffic goes it does not matter if they are breaking the law? Dont get me wrong i like to cruise at 80 all day long.

Regardless. The guy wasnt allowing people to pass. Therefore he is impeding the flow of traffic.
