Everyone (well, not me) is mourning for this kid because he was a "stupid youth" but seriously, he almost killed 4 people.
yeah, that's why it annoys me so much when i read threads where people are giving condolences to the family of someone who was killed in an automobile accident as a result of speeding and/or wreckless driving!! i mean, wtf?? if this person chooses to conduct in wreckless activity, then isn't it just that he reaps the consequences of his action?? why should we feel sorry for this person?? i mean, if i kill myself due to excessive speeding and/or wreckless driving, i certainly don't want anyone feeling sorry for me, cuz i pretty much deserve the consequences that resulted.

I think it's a simple solution. Remove minimum jail sentences for anything. Leave it up to the judge and jury to decide. Say an 8 year old kid kills someone. If that kid is a sick in the head nut job that knew exactly what he/she was doing then let the jury decide rather or not to fry them based on the evidence. If that kid was just being a kid and didn't realize what they were doing then the jury could give the kid time served. At first thought mandatory sentences seemed like a good idea now I'm thinking it's the wrong approach.

so why would you shoot at the heart if you were going to test this? the guy probably would have lived if he had "only" been shot in the right side of his chest, or in the stomach area.

Pretty stupid........

It's like wearing Depends so you can drink a lot of alcohol without visiting the restroom, only to realize that Depends are intended only to prevent leaks. Or so I've heard.

That's the first thing to cross my mind when I first read this thread.

" I dare you to shoot me"...That goes on my list of phrases to never utter right between "F*ck you officer" and yelling "bomb" in an airport.
