Regardless, I find the show very entertaining and at times, educational. Bear was really a British Special Forces and did climb atop of Mount Everest. Not many can claim that. Not to mention he climbed M.E. after having recovered from spinal injury and being crippled of 2 years.

Most likely they were wanting to stress a safety/survival point (lava bridges) and could not find one out in the wild. After he filmed his survival stuff they probably learned of this bridge and decided to film that particular segment out of sequence to capture what one looks like for the benefit of the viewers.
he is a bad mabajamba and I would tend to believe my explaination over the "whole show is phoney" simply because one instance is proven to be near a road.
