my MBA doesn't help when it comes to circles

the tube is actually solid, no need for ID/OD, just OD.

Not to throw a spanner into the works, but if mingster stretched the string as he wrapped it around the <bar/tube, take your pick>, his measurement of the circumference would be too small and the <b/t, typ> could be 0.75" in diameter.

Wouldn't it be simpler to get calipers?
