Default Mayor Giuliani becomes a Knight...

I see that Mayor Giuliani is being bestowed with the honour of becoming an Honorary Knight Of The Realm by the Queen.
This is a huge honour for a non British citizen (let alone a British one).
What do you guys think ?

I shall address him as "Sir Rudy" next time I see him.

I don't know if this is correct, but what the heck, we're Americans!

Rudy provided New York City with brilliant leadership in the face of the most horrific acts ever committed against the United States. He certainly deserves the highest honor!

In many ways his leadership also strengthened the security and resolve of our allies. Had New York City cowered and their spirit been broken, our allies strength would have been diminished also. Such a distinction conveyed upon him by the Queen demonstrates the depth of British friendship and the importance that your nation places upon that quality of leadership.

As an American watching George Bush address the nation after the attack, I was deeply touched that Tony Blair was with President Bush and our congress that night to show his support and the suport of your nation. It was very comforting and reassuring that we were not in this alone. Many people don't realize how strong a message his presence that night was. It certainly made a lot of nations who were "on-the-fence" about supporting us think twice.

Be assured that the citizens of the United States have tremendous appreciation for all that the British have done to support and help with the fight against terrorism.
